I love when there is enough leftover fabric from a completed project to make a new one. It sort of feels like free fabric. After making a dress from the book Twinkle Sews
, I squeezed this top, Vogue 1152, out of the remaining yardage. Both are silk crepe de chine in 'rich green' from NYFashionCenterFabrics.com.
Details to follow...

Wow, they are both fabulous. That is a lovely color green. It's nice to see your version of Vogue 1152. I just cut a dress from that pattern today.
ReplyDeleteThat is a beautiful dress and top. I just love that green color. Could you tell me more about that book "Twinkle Sews." It sounds very intriguing.
ReplyDeleteLove both of them. Great green! I keep hearing about this twinkle book!
ReplyDeleteThank you ladies! I just updated my blog with more info about Twinkle Sews. I really like the book; there are many great details that could be adapted to other patterns, too.
ReplyDeleteOoh, what a cute top! I just bought fabric for that dress today, so I'm curious to know how you found the pattern to be... I'll go check to see if you posted a review at PR.
ReplyDeleteWow, that is a beautiful dress and top!
ReplyDeleteVery beautifully, one of my favourite colours. A blouse the higher class.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE you version of 1152. Too bad that Vogue pictured the dress in a pattern, all of that lovely detail is hidden, whereas you show it off well. Now I want that pattern.
ReplyDeleteFabulous, both of them!
ReplyDeleteBeautifully sewn! I like how you changed the waist band and made the skirt with pleats instead of the gathering made by elastic. Very chic! And the color is gorgeous on you.
ReplyDeleteThat's awesome that you were able to use the leftover! I feel like I always end up with too much or not enough. The green is so pretty with your coloring.
ReplyDeleteOooer you're very talented.

I love the changes you made to the dress...much nicer waistline!
ReplyDeleteJana
Both of them look fantastic! You inspire me to try puffy sleeves.
ReplyDeletewill you give an origins post? You're about my age I think, but you're way more talented. A lot of sewing bloggers are so professional, their clothing is actually well made (mine is strings dangling, please don't look at the seams kind of sewing), I'd like to see how you do it.
